Understanding neuropathy

Nerve pain relief, guided by Dr. Tsai

Neuropathy shows up as burning, tingling, numbness or weakness - most often in the hands and feet - and it can come from diabetes, an old injury, chemotherapy, vitamin deficiency, infection or simply the wear of aging. Whatever the cause, damaged nerves respond to consistent, targeted care.

Dr. Tsai combines acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, herbal medicine and other holistic therapies into one plan built around your nerve health, your history and your goals.

Our process

Five simple steps

What causes neuropathy

Neuropathy develops when peripheral nerves are damaged or irritated. Diabetes is the most common cause, but injury, chemotherapy, excess alcohol use, vitamin deficiency, infection, autoimmune conditions and simple aging can all contribute.

Because nerves heal slowly, consistent care matters more than any single visit. Acupuncture is used alongside - never in place of - your physician's care for the underlying cause.

How acupuncture helps neuropathy

Treatment is aimed at the nerve pathways themselves, not just the pain signal.

  • Improves blood circulation to affected nerves
  • Supports nerve signaling with gentle electro-acupuncture
  • Eases burning, tingling and numbness
  • Reduces inflammation around irritated nerves
  • Complements herbal medicine and moxibustion for full-body support
