Women's health support, guided by Dr. Tsai at Advanced Acupuncture

What it is

Women's health support, guided by Dr. Tsai

Irregular cycles, PMS, PCOS, menopause symptoms and fertility challenges are all connected to hormonal balance and circulation. Acupuncture is used to support circulation to the reproductive organs, calm the stress response, and encourage the body's own hormonal regulation.

Dr. Tsai works closely with your OB-GYN or fertility doctor, building a plan that complements - never replaces - the reproductive care you are already receiving.

Our process

Five simple steps

How we understand women's hormonal health

Stress, poor circulation and hormonal fluctuation can disrupt menstrual regularity, fertility, pregnancy comfort and the menopause transition. Traditional Chinese Medicine views these stages as connected to Qi and blood flow through the reproductive system.

Acupuncture works to improve circulation to the ovaries and uterus, calm the stress response, and support the endocrine system's own regulation of estrogen, progesterone and related hormones.

How treatment helps

Acupuncture is used alongside your OB-GYN, fertility specialist or other physician - never in place of their care.

  • Supports circulation to the ovaries and uterus
  • May help regulate menstrual cycles
  • Supports the body during fertility treatment, including IVF and IUI
  • Eases stress and supports emotional balance during hormonal shifts
  • Supports comfort during pregnancy and postpartum recovery

Can acupuncture really help with hormone balance?
Acupuncture is used to support circulation and the body's own hormonal regulation, which some patients find helps with cycle regularity and PMS. It is not a substitute for medical evaluation of a diagnosed hormonal condition.
Can acupuncture help with fertility or menstrual irregularities?
Acupuncture is often used as a complementary therapy to support circulation and stress reduction during natural conception attempts or fertility treatment. Continue working with your fertility specialist or OB-GYN - acupuncture supports that care, it does not replace it.
Is acupuncture safe during pregnancy or postpartum recovery?
Acupuncture can be safely performed during pregnancy and postpartum recovery by an experienced practitioner, with certain points avoided at certain stages. Always tell Dr. Tsai you are pregnant, and keep your OB-GYN informed of any complementary care.
How many sessions will I need?
It varies by goal, but many patients begin acupuncture 3-6 months before conception or fertility treatment to help prepare the body, then continue with regular sessions through treatment.
Does acupuncture hurt?
No. The needles are ultra-thin and most patients find sessions relaxing rather than painful.
Can it be combined with IVF, IUI or hormone therapy?
Yes - acupuncture is commonly used alongside fertility treatments and hormone therapy as supportive, complementary care. Always keep your fertility specialist informed so your care stays coordinated.
