People have back pain, joint pain, muscle pain or nerve pain, other than back pain, because they may have additional problems causing back or other pain.

Five basic organs control different systems that affect the entire body, including emotions. Imbalances like anger and depression can occur because of a burning liver or oxygen deficiency.

High tension levels can cause high blood pressure, and side effects from medications can slow down the blood circulation to the entire body, including the head, limbs and internal organs.

Unless the limbs, the head and the internal organs receive enough circulation, and the joints receive enough lubrication, strain from simple exercise

and even wrong positions can cause pain and disease.

Conditions that are left untreated can gradually cause poor circulation, making the body weak and imbalanced.

The Acupuncture Pain Control Center, and the Advanced Acupuncture Center provide caring, individualized treatment for each patient.

By combining acupuncture with electro-therapy, bio-magnetic and infra-red light therapy, patients receive double effectiveness.

We have achieved excellent results in stroke recovery, chronic neck and back pain, pinched nerve, degenerative disc diseases, and arthritic stiffness, where the patient endures debilitating and consistent pain.

How Acupuncture Works

What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a health science that is used to successfully treat both pain and dysfunction in the body. This ancient healing art has been used in China for over 4,500 years. Early Chinese physicians discovered there is an energy network traversing just below the surface of the skin that communicates from the exterior to the internal organs and structure at over 1,000 "Acupoints" on the body.

How Does Acupuncture Work?
The body's energy works in harmony with the body's circulatory, nervous, muscular, digestive and all other systems of the body. When this vital energy becomes blocked or weakened, it can alter the entire system, producing pain or symptoms in the body. Acupuncture's goal is to stimulate one or a combination of key "Acupoints" on the body to restore harmony to the affected area.

Is Acupuncture Painful?
There are many ways to stimulate an acupuncture pressure point - needles, electronic stimulation, cold laser beam or
pressure massage, singularly or in combination. Does it hurt, you ask? Four acupuncture needles could easily fit into one hypodermic needle. Because of the extreme slenderness, most people compare the sensation as “less than a mosquito bite”.

How Will It Make Me Feel?
Acupuncture is based upon the belief that there is a need for balance in the flow of energy in the body. The energy we are referring to is 1) Chi, 2) blood, and, 3) electrical energy in the nervous system. Acupuncture increases the production of endorphin which relaxes the body and reduces the level of pain. It also increases the circulation of blood, sending nutrition via the small blood vessels to all parts of the body. Endorphins are the body's natural pain relievers that have an analgesic, anti-depressant and anti-allergenic effect. It relieves pain and gives a sense of euphoria.

How Many Treatments Are Necessary?
As a patient, you may experience immediate relief after one treatment. Others may begin to experience improvement after a few treatments. Chronic diseases and conditions may take more extensive treatment, up to 15 or 20.

How Long Does the Treatment Last?
Normally, each session takes 20 to 30 minutes. It depends on the sensitivity of each individual and the kind of diseases and conditions.

Is It Necessary to Stop Other Medications?
No. You should continue to follow your current physician's instructions. Acupuncture can be used to complement and supplement a physician's treatments.

Is Acupuncture Covered Under Health Insurance?
This depends on what type of health insurance plan you are enrolled in. Contact your Insurance provider to find out if Acupuncture is covered by your policy. You will find the phone number on your insurance card. IIf you are covered, we will reimburse patients for office visits paid by them, as soon as the insurance company reimburses us.
